Excessive Sweating Treatment
How much you normally sweat depends on the number of sweat glands you have. Humans are born with about two to four million sweat glands. The more glands you have, the more you tend to sweat. Compound a high number of sweat glands with over-active gland production and you have a case of excessive sweating.
Note: Please contact a doctor if sweating is accompanied by fever, weight loss, chest pain, shortness of breath, or a rapid, pounding heartbeat. These symptoms may indicate an underlying problem.
Treatment
Considerations
Excessive sweating is an embarrassing disorder and difficult to treat short of prescriptions. In extreme cases a surgery called endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy (ETS), Botox injections or the removal of sweat glands are required.
Excessive sweating and hyperhydrosis surgeries such as ETS can be horrible for this fact and there should be and I say this with caution, a restriction upon who can and can not have this surgery. Or at a minimum, Dr.'s should fully disclose the awful potential of the compensatory sweating side effects and the real percentages of those people who are affected adversely by the surgery.
